Our Process
Custom Jewelry Process & Order Policy
At ALENI, every custom piece is individually created for you. From selecting your center stone to CAD design, production, certification, final inspection, and delivery, our team will guide you through every stage of the process.
Please review the following customization process and order policies carefully before placing your order.
1. Deposit & Order Confirmation
To begin a custom order, we require a 50% deposit of the total order value.
Payments can be made through PayPal Goods & Services.
Once the deposit has been received, your order will officially enter our customization process.
Please note that the deposit is applied toward the sourcing, design, material preparation, stone cutting or reservation, and production of your customized piece.
2. Center Stone Selection & Confirmation
Before CAD design and production begin, we will confirm the specifications of your selected center stone with you.
Please carefully review all relevant information before confirming your stone, including:

Standard Cuts
For diamonds in regular shapes and standard cuts, once the center stone has been confirmed, one center stone exchange is allowed.
For example:
Stone A → Stone B
The exchange must be requested and completed within 3 business days after the original stone is confirmed.
After this period, the center stone will be considered finalized and can no longer be changed.
Rare Cuts & Rare Colors
For rare cuts, custom cuts, or rare-colored diamonds and gemstones, we will confirm the stone's specifications with you before production, including its:

Face-up shape

Length-to-width ratio

Dimensions
-
Internal cutting proportions

Color tone
-
Overall appearance
Once a rare-cut or rare-color center stone has been confirmed by the customer, it cannot be changed, exchanged, returned, or refunded.
Because these stones may be individually sourced, selected, reserved, or specially cut according to your requirements, confirmation of the stone is considered final.
3. CAD Design & Revisions
Based on your preferred style, reference images, selected gemstone, and design requirements, our team will create a CAD design for your jewelry.
During the CAD stage, we will communicate with you closely and send revised versions for your review.
You may provide feedback regarding details such as:

Band width

Stone placement
-
Prong style

Pavé details
-
Engraving
-
Personalized design elements
We will continue refining the CAD until the final design is approved by you.
Production will only begin after you approve the final CAD design and all relevant stone specifications.
Please carefully review the CAD dimensions, proportions, engraving, stone placement, and other details before providing final approval.
4. Production & Order Cancellation Policy
Once the final CAD design and center stone or custom-cut requirements have been confirmed, your order will enter the production stage.
At this point, materials may already have been purchased, stones reserved or cut, CAD specifications finalized, and manufacturing work started.
Therefore:
Once an order has entered production, the order cannot be cancelled or terminated without loss of the deposit.
If the customer requests to cancel or terminate the order after production has begun, the deposit will be retained and will not be refunded.
This policy applies because the deposit is used toward customized design work, gemstone sourcing or cutting, materials, labor, and other production-related costs that may no longer be recoverable.
5. Jewelry Production
Every piece is individually manufactured according to the confirmed CAD design and specifications.
Estimated Production Time
Production time depends on the complexity of the design.
Simple designs: approximately 10–20 days
More detailed custom designs: approximately 20–35 days
For highly customized pieces involving complex structures, extensive diamond setting, special craftsmanship, rare cuts, custom-cut gemstones, or other intricate details, the overall customization period may take approximately 28–50 days.
Please note that production times are estimates. More complicated pieces may require additional time to ensure structural integrity and finishing quality.
6. Diamond Certification
Our certification policy depends on the type of diamond selected.
All standard-cut diamonds come with an IGI certificate.
Rare-cut and rare-color diamonds come with a GIL certificate.
If an IGI certificate is specifically requested for a rare-cut or rare-color diamond, an additional certification fee will apply.
Please also allow approximately 0.5–1 month of additional waiting time for IGI certification of rare stones.
The exact certification timeline may vary depending on the stone and laboratory processing time.
7. Final Quality Inspection
Before shipping, we will carry out a detailed final inspection of your jewelry.
We will also provide detailed photos and videos of the finished piece for your review.
This allows you to check the overall appearance and details of your jewelry before shipment.
Once the finished piece has been reviewed and confirmed, we will prepare the order for delivery.
8. Remaining Balance & Shipping
The remaining balance must be paid in full before shipment.
Once payment has been confirmed, your jewelry will be securely packaged and shipped.
We primarily use:
DHL
FedEx
Estimated delivery times vary depending on destination.
United States: approximately 3–5 days
United Kingdom: approximately 2–4 days
Delivery times are estimates and may occasionally be affected by customs clearance, carrier delays, weather conditions, local holidays, or other circumstances outside our control.
Return & Refund Policy
Because our jewelry is made according to each customer's individual specifications, we do not accept returns or refunds for reasons other than confirmed product quality issues.
Returns or refunds are not accepted for reasons including, but not limited to:

Change of mind
-
Personal preference after production
-
Change in preferred design
-
Change in center stone preference
-
Change in ring size provided by the customer

Differences in subjective expectations after the CAD and specifications have been approved

Customer-requested cancellation after production has begun
For rare-cut, custom-cut, or rare-color center stones, once the stone has been confirmed, the selection is final and the stone cannot be changed, exchanged, returned, or refunded.
For customized jewelry, once the final CAD design and cutting requirements have been approved and production has started, the order cannot be terminated without forfeiting the deposit.
If you believe your item has a genuine manufacturing or quality issue, please contact our team and provide clear photos or videos so that we can review the issue and provide an appropriate solution.
Final Approval Policy
Before production begins, the customer is responsible for carefully reviewing and confirming all relevant order details, including:

Once the customer confirms the final CAD design, center stone, and any special cutting or color requirements, this confirmation will be regarded as authorization for ALENI to proceed with production.
After production begins, changes may no longer be possible and cancellation of the order will result in the deposit being non-refundable.
